About Our Electric Wire Rope Hoists

An electric wire rope hoist lifts with a steel wire rope wound on a drum, driven by a motor through a reduction gearbox and held by a brake. Compared with a chain hoist it offers higher load capacity and greater lifting height, which is why it is the usual lifting unit on single girder, double girder and gantry cranes.

Four series cover the range. The CD1 is the classic single-speed hoist for general lifting. The MD1 adds a second, slow lifting speed for precise positioning. The MD low headroom hoist is built for workshops with limited ceiling height. The HC square-box hoist is the heavy-duty model that pairs with double girder and gantry cranes.

Choosing an Electric Wire Rope Hoist

  1. 01
Single or double speed For loading, unloading and general handling, the single-speed CD1 is the economical choice. Where the load has to be positioned precisely, choose the double-speed MD1.
  2. 02
Headroom Where the ceiling is low, the MD low headroom hoist takes up less vertical space and leaves more usable lifting height.
  3. 03
Heavy loads For large tonnage and frequent heavy lifting, the HC hoist uses a square-box planetary reducer and is available in single-speed and dual-speed versions.
  4. 04
Fixed or travelling Hoists are supplied as fixed units or with a travelling trolley, with pendant or wireless remote control.
  5. 05
Working conditions Tell us the supply voltage and the environment the hoist will work in. Explosion-proof and low-temperature versions are built to order.
