AGV Transfer Vehicles
Heavy-Duty AGV Transfer Vehicle
Heavy-duty AGV transfer vehicle: a driverless, battery-powered platform carrier for dies, machine frames and large assemblies, guided by laser or magnetic tape.
Overview
Heavy-Duty AGV Transfer Vehicle
The heavy-duty AGV transfer vehicle is an automated guided vehicle built for loads that are too heavy or too large for ordinary AGV carts. It has a custom steel frame, a full-size load deck and battery-powered drive units, and it travels without rails and without a driver along a programmed route, stopping at stations to be loaded and unloaded.
Navigation is by laser or by magnetic tape laid on the floor, and several vehicles can be coordinated by a dispatch system that assigns jobs and manages junctions. The deck can be left flat, or fitted with a lift table or locating fixtures as shown in our photos. Load capacity, deck size and equipment are engineered to order; send us the load details and route layout for a specification and quotation.
Key features
-
01
Steel frame and deck made to the load The frame is fabricated from high-strength steel and the deck is dimensioned for the workpiece, its support points and the way it is loaded.
-
02
Flexible travel Steerable drive wheels allow forward, reverse and sideways travel, which helps in narrow aisles and when docking at a station.
-
03
Laser or magnetic tape navigation Laser navigation needs no floor installation and adapts when the layout changes; magnetic tape is a simple choice for fixed routes.
-
04
Obstacle detection and warnings Laser scanning, bumper edges, emergency stop buttons and audible and visual alarms protect people who share the floor with the vehicle.
-
05
Fleet dispatch A dispatch system coordinates several vehicles, including routes that branch and merge, and routes can be changed as production changes.
-
06
Deck equipment Lift tables, locating frames and other load-handling fixtures can be mounted on the deck.
-
07
Charging Automatic charging and battery management are available on some configurations.
Where it is used

- Machinery and equipment building Moving machine beds, frames and large sub-assemblies through the assembly stations.
- Steel and metal processing Carrying heavy workpieces between process bays.
- Yards and outdoor routes Outdoor versions link buildings across paved areas.
